ProfessionalScience EducatorI teach what I love, and I love what I teach! This year I begin my 16th year as a science educator, and my 2nd year at Williams Academy. Over the years I have taught both middle and high school science, at a variety of content and ability levels. I graduated from the University of South Carolina - Columbia in 2000 with a Bachelors Degree in Marine Science, and again from USC in 2004 with a Masters of Arts in Teaching Secondary Science - Biology. I am certified to teach secondary science and am proud to say I achieved National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Science in 2011. Prior to moving to Williams Academy, I taught in Spartanburg, SC and also served as the Treasurer/Webmaster for the South Carolina Science Council.

PersonalI am a Michigan born and raised, Carolina transplant who just moved up to NC from SC in July 2018! I have an awesome 11 year old son, and have recently remarried - gaining an amazing husband and 2 wonderful stepdaughters. In addition to our newly blended family, we also have 2 dogs and a cat. I love working in education but when I'm not teaching school, I am a naturalist who enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with my family and coloring to relieve stress!
